Headquartered in Hamilton, Texas, Pederson’s Natural Farms raises Duroc-sired pigs, a heritage breed known for high quality meat, incredible juiciness and superior marbling.
Raised on a vegetarian diet, without growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics, their Duroc pigs grow slower than those at industrial “farms”, and Pederson’s is quite alright with that. It’s a better life for the pigs, and produces the best pork ever eaten.
Pederson’s Natural Farms is pledged to growing their business responsibly and deliver on their commitment to animal welfare, community, waste reduction, and conservation. Pederson’s Natural Farms works with self-sustaining family farms because they’re good stewards of their land, and they feel the ethical obligation to provide their pigs with a comfortable life. These family farms not only raise their pigs in an open pen, but also grow the grain they use to feed them. Pederson’s participates in the Global Animal Partnership (GAP)’s 5 Step® Animal Welfare program. Their pork is certified Humane Raised and Handled.
